Many people are put off online bingo because they are concerned that they will not be able to understand. In reality, however, the developers of online bingo services have worked hard to retain the most defining characteristic of the game – its simplicity.
As with ‘real life’ bingo, in the online version of the game you will be presented with a card. This will have a set number of columns and rows, although the exact number will differ depending on whether you are playing the 75-ball or 90-ball version. If the card has five columns it is customary for the word “BINGO” to be spelt out, with one letter at the top of each column.
Once the game has begun, a virtual ‘caller’ will reel off a series of letter and number combinations. If ‘BINGO’ has been spelt out at the top of your card, these combinations will come in the form of, for example, I3. In this case, you should look at the second column (the ‘I’ column), and see if you have a 3 in one of the squares below it. If you do, you should cross it off. Most sites require you to mark the boxes yourself, although some will do so automatically if you miss one.
Your card will also have a selection of boxes which have been shaded, forming a pattern. The ultimate aim of the game is to be the first player to mark all of the shaded boxes, thus achieving ‘bingo’. In order to aid you in this, you will also have a blank square. This is usually found in the very centre of the card and can be used as a ‘free’ go, signifying whatever number you require. Get £10 Free Now at Mecca Bingo!
